The Santa Clara County District Attorney on Wednesday morning is expected to announce charges in the Valley Fair shooting and whether or not the 17-year-old suspect will be tried as an adult. Kris Sanchez reports.

Prosecutors allege the teen opened fire on who he thought was a rival gang member in the crowded San Jose mall, forcing panicked shoppers to run for cover.

If the suspect is tried and convicted in adult court, he could face decades in prison, whereas if he’s convicted in juvenile court, his sentence would be much shorter.
