REDDING, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has been awarded a series of traffic safety grants from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) to enhance roadway safety across the state.
According to CHP Northern Division, the grants will support 20 statewide and local projects aimed at reducing crashes, preventing injuries, and increasing community engagement.

The statewide CHP initiatives, supported by the OTS, include efforts to reduce drunk driving, speed prevention, teen impaired driving education, and bicycle and pedestrian safety. Additional programs focus on teen distracted driving, motorcycle safety, and outreach to Spanish-speaking and Native–Tribal communities.
