– Voted as the #1 Best Farmers Market in California (and #3 in the U.S.), the Midtown Farmers Market will present Sacramento Ballet preview performances of The Nutcracker, a Matty the Elf Holiday Scavenger Hunt, complimentary gift wrapping, festive DJ & live music plus is a stop on the Made in Midtown Shoppers Trail also happening this month. Proudly sponsored by Sutter Health and presented by SMUD, the open-air market first debuted in 2013 and is available on Saturdays year-round – rain or shine – with fall/winter hours now in effect from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
To make the sprawling six-city market as easy as possible to navigate, destinations are identified by themed offerings such as Artisan Alley, Boutique Boulevard, Market Square, Merchant Market, Producers Plaza, Savory Street, the Street Food Sacramento block, and now the Culinary Corridor presented by American Property Management.
In addition to up to 250 vendors offering a wide range of products each Saturday in fall and winter, the Midtown Farmers Market will also offer a variety of special activations and entertaining music in December sponsored by Priority Parking as outlined below and taking place in Market Square located at 20th & K Streets (unless specified otherwise).
Saturday, December 6 – During 12 Days of Midtown
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Complimentary gift wrapping at Information Booth with the purchase of two gifts or more; also includes Market merchandise purchased in advance through the Midtown Association’s website.10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Sacramento Ballet preview performances of The Nutcracker. to 12:30 p.m. – Entertaining and upbeat music with DJ Sanz spinning tunes.
Saturday, December 13
10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. – Upbeat holiday music by Toast and Jam, a Northern California band that performs in acoustic format.
Saturday, December 20
9 to 11:30 a.m. – Adventurous shoppers can participate in fun and festive Matty the Elf Holiday Scavenger Hunt. To start, shoppers make a purchase from any Market vendor then pick up a scavenger clues list at the Information Booth before turning in the completed card by 11:30 a.m. with a picture of each item. The completed card will enter participants into a drawing for a chance to win a Midtown Farmers Market tote filled with gift cards to Midtown businesses and other goodies. Throughout the morning, Matty The Elf will be browsing the Market spreading holiday cheer, and will select the winner at 12:00 p.m.10:30 to 12:30 p.m. — Entertaining music from Strings 2 the Groove, a violinist & DJ groovin’ to the beat

Using a digital passport, shoppers are encouraged to explore the Market and approximately 30 of Midtown’s small businesses, restaurants, and local makers. For every purchase of $10 or more at a participating business – or a Midtown Farmers Market vendor — shoppers earn a digital stamp in a digital passport. For Market stamps, please stop by the Information Booth at 20th & K. For every six stamps collected, shoppers will receive a raffle entry for a chance to win a Midtown gift card bundle valued at more than $1K.
