BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — The man who died in an off-road vehicle crash near Arvin on Nov. 22 has been identified as 22-year-old Andres Ramirez, of Arvin.

Ramirez was a passenger in a 2017 Can-Am UTV when it struck a tree on Rock Pile Road and Buena Vista Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:36 p.m.
The California Highway Patrol reported that officers were called to the scene at around 12:35 p.m. for a solo-vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation revealed that a 20-year-old woman was driving a Can-Am with an unknown-age male passenger.

The vehicle was traveling at an undetermined high speed when it veered off the road, striking two almond trees before coming to rest.
The driver sustained severe injuries and was taken to Kern Medical. Her condition is currently unknown.
