On the night of Thursday, Oct. 9, internet personality Joshua Block, also known by his online handle “worldoftshirts,” was struck in the face during an altercation outside of Cali’s Sports Bar & Kitchen on Telegraph Avenue after shouting, “I hate immigrants.” The incident sparked a chaotic series of events, in which Block appeared to attempt to attack someone and allegedly bit a woman, who said she will file charges against Block.

Block is a social media content creator with more than four million followers on TikTok. He is known for his spontaneous daily posts, as well as various controversies associated with widespread fame, including incidents involving alcohol, other physical disputes and alleged usage of racial slurs. Block has also said he is autistic.

While outside Cali’s Sports Bar & Kitchen at 2 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 10, following a scheduled event for college students inside the bar’s basement, Block was seen on video getting into a physical altercation with an individual. He was recorded saying “I hate immigrants” several times before allegedly instigating a fight involving numerous individuals and being struck in the face.

The brawl was captured on video by various onlookers at the scene and widely circulated online.

Following the incident, Block left the scene in a car with his manager, Tony Bame, and individuals who were part of the team that helped promote the event at Cali’s Sports Bar that night.

While inside the car, Block was acting “hectic” and bit Angela Garcia’s hand, Garcia said in an interview with The Daily Californian. Garcia was an assistant to the promoter of the event and said she has since filed a police report and intends to press charges against Block.

According to Garcia, her skin was torn from pulling her hand away. In a video posted to TikTok on Monday, Garcia claimed members of Block’s team have tried to send her money to “not make a video and not press charges.”

“I put my hand kinda near to where he’s at in the passenger seat, and it gets pretty close to him,” Garcia said. “He bit the f— out of me, like he just gripped onto my hand pretty well … He was biting me for a cool 10-15 seconds. I pulled my hand out of his face and that’s what tore my skin.”

Garcia told the Daily Cal on Tuesday that she spent Friday, Oct. 10, in the emergency room and has since quit her job working for the event promoter.

There is currently no timeline for the charges she plans to press.

“I am going to press charges, but I don’t know how long this process is going to take, and I don’t know how many people I’m going to have to talk to,” Garcia said.

After the incident, Block posted various videos on social media in response to the altercation and backlash over his comment regarding immigrants. In one post, Block claimed he was “jumped” in Berkeley “for just existing,” while in another, he said he supported immigrants, “as long as they’re legal.”

As of press time, Block and Bame did not respond to requests for comment.
