Lane and ramp closures will be in place along a stretch of the 5 Freeway next week north of Los Angeles.

The closures in the Castaic area will allow crews to complete paving work, part of a project that started in 2022. The lane closures will impact both sides of the freeway Monday through Friday.

Here’s what to know.

Between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., one lane of northbound and southbound 5 Freeway between Lake Hughes Road and two miles north of Templin Highway will see possible closures.

From 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., up to three lanes may be closed on northbound and southbound lanes along the same stretch of freeway.

The northbound and southbound Lake Hughes Road on- and off-ramps may be closed during those same windows.

The paving is part of a project that involves replacing concrete slabs, upgrading drainage systems and guardrail, repairing and stabilizing slopes through rock scaling and installing geogrid, and construction of a retaining wall, according to a Caltrans.
