More than 10,000 runners from across the globe will be in Sacramento for the 42nd annual California International Marathon on Sunday. While the race touts itself as the “strongest path to a Boston qualifying time,” it’s also attractive to other runners for its gentle hills and flat finish. This year’s event is also hosting the USA Track & Field Marathon Championships for elite athletes, part of the annual USATF Running Circuit, where a national champion is crowned.
