BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who died after being struck by a vehicle in Arvin as 18-year-old Jorge Ramirez Sanchez.

The report said on November 27, 2025, at an unknown time, Sanchez was struck by a vehicle on South Edison Road, north of Tejon Park Drive in Arvin.

He was taken to Kern Medical, where he died from his injuries at around 8 a.m. on November 28.

A GoFundMe was made for Jorge. The campaign said, “Jorge was the victim of a hit-and-run accident and, despite the doctors’ best efforts, he passed away the next day during surgery. Jorge was a truly kind and sweet man. He was always respectful to everyone he met, and he had a way of making people smile no matter what. His happiness was infectious—he worked hard, stayed positive, and made sure those around him felt cared for and supported.”

The GoFundMe said the funds will be used for funeral expenses.
