A predawn rollover crash in San Francisco’s Mission District on Thursday sent two people to the hospital, authorities said.
The San Francisco Fire Department said it received a report of a vehicle collision at 4:59 a.m. in the 200 block of South Van Ness Avenue.
When firefighters arrived, they found one car overturned and another damaged. All three people involved had already made it out of the vehicles.
“The three individuals were evaluated by San Francisco fire paramedics,” the department said in a statement. “Two of them were transported to local hospitals for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.”
The third person declined transport.
The San Francisco Police Department’s traffic division is now examining what led to the crash, which occurred along one of the city’s major north–south corridors.
Authorities did not immediately release details about the cause of the rollover or whether any citations were issued.
Despite the dramatic scene shared on social media, officials emphasized that the wreck was cleared quickly.
“Fortunately, the situation was resolved with minor injuries and will not impact the morning commute,” the fire department said.
