The California Board of Parole Hearings denied parole Nov. 20 to a local man convicted of second-degree murder in 2012, the Kern County District Attorney’s Office reported Tuesday.
It said the board concluded Arturo Huerta, age 73, continues to pose a current and unreasonable risk to public safety.
