Eight people, including multiple high school track and field runners, were hurt as a car hit pedestrians in Anaheim Wednesday afternoon.

The crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. at Harbor Boulevard and North Street, officials said.

Mike Lyster, a city of Anaheim spokesperson, said nine total people were hurt, one of whom is the driver.

Of the seven others, at least several of them are runners for Anaheim High School. One of them is in critical condition.

Police confirmed the male driver was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs and alcohol. His identity has not been released.

Footage from the scene shows a red Toyota compact sedan that crashed into a brick wall, with many hurt people nearby.
