A Bible study group leader, with a nonprofit in San Diego, has been accused of sexually assaulting a boy, Orange County sheriff’s investigators said Thursday.
Cameron Taylor Heath, 39, was booked on Dec. 4 on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor younger than 14, according to sheriff’s deputies. Heath bailed out on Dec. 7.
Laguna Hills sheriff’s investigators responded to a call for service in October that led them to later find evidence that several years earlier, the accuser was sexually abused by Heath, who was the family’s bible study group leader.
Heath was also a member of Generations Church in Placentia and owned and operated from 2010-12 the “Action Kids” youth fitness center in Placentia, deputies said. He also led a bible study group known as “The Branch” and was the founder and president of “Deed and Truth Ministries,” a nonprofit organization in San Diego, deputies said.
Due to Heath’s access to minors, SVD investigators believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information, or anyone who believes they may have been a victim, is urged to contact the Orange County Sheriff’s Department Special Victims Detail at 714-647-7419 or 714-647-7000. Anonymous tips may also be submitted to Orange County Crime Stoppers at 855-TIP-OCCS.
