Owners of the Gibson County gem have sparked concern from locals after a shocking social media post before the holidays.

When I was a kid, I lived in Oakland City for a few years. Now, there wasn’t much there, but one thing I do remember is eating at Taylor’s 2 Steakhouse. Featuring typical bar food like burgers, sandwiches, onion rings, fries, etc., Taylor’s 2 is probably best known for three things: their inch-thick pork chops, their country ham, and my personal favorite, their ribeye steaks.

Located on Indiana Highway 64, just over a mile and a half east of the intersection of Highways 57 and 64, Taylor’s 2 is what some would call a hidden gem. Covered in pale-yellow sheet metal siding on the outside, with a privacy-fenced patio area, you could classify it as a “dive”, but don’t let that deter you from the food waiting for you inside.

Taylor’s 2 Steakhouse has been around for years, but now the local establishment is in jeopardy of closing.

Last night, a post popped up on my Facebook newsfeed. A friend of mine shared a post from Taylor’s 2 Steakhouse that is leaving so many in the community concerned that this hidden gem will soon be closing for good. The Facebook post reads:

Taylor’s 2 Steakhouse will close on Sunday, December 14, to assess what our future will be. This was not an easy decision. During this time, we will continue to host private parties and our catering. We will make a decision, hopefully, by the first of the year. I would like to thank everyone who supported us over the past few years.

The future remains uncertain for Taylor’s 2 Steakhouse, but one thing is very clear: fans of the establishment are devastated by the possibility of it closing. The comments on the post say it all. Time will tell if Taylor’s 2 Steakhouse will close, but if you want to enjoy it while you can, you have until December 14th to do so.
