South Gate police Friday were seeking potential additional victims of a 22-year-old substitute teacher arrested earlier this year for allegedly possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material.
Andrew Gonzales was arrested Oct. 28 after detectives, with assistance from LA Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators, executed a search warrant, according to the South Gate Police Department.
Police said Gonzales has since been released from custody, but they released a photo of him in the hope of having potential additional victims come forward.
“Detectives from Internet Crimes Against Children are releasing the suspect’s booking photo because they believe the suspect is responsible for additional, unreported production of child sexual abuse material and they are asking for anyone that was victimized by this suspect to immediately contact the South Gate PD,” the department said in a statement.
Police said Gonzales was allegedly producing child sexual abuse material, targeting girls.
Anyone with additional information about the alleged sexual misconduct or any victims wanting to come forward was urged to contact the South Gate Detective Bureau at 323-563-5436.
