Hundreds of people experienced the magic of the holidays on Saturday evening, Dec. 13, as Long Beach hosted the 71st iteration of the Daisy Lane Parade.
The popular holiday parade, which takes place annually in the Wrigley neighborhood, featured festive floats and cheerful performances by local businesses, nonprofits and community groups. It was presented by Long Beach, Vice Mayor Roberto Uranga and the Wrigley Area Neighborhood Alliance.

“The Daisy Lane Parade is more than just a holiday festivity – it is part of our community’s story,” Uranga said in a statement before the parade. “I am grateful to everyone who helps keep this cherished tradition alive and makes it a highlight of our holiday season. I’m honored to continue this beloved tradition and to see our streets once again filled with the sights and sounds that make this celebration so special.”
The Daisy Lane Parade began in 1953 as the brainchild of Gertrude Whittle, who originally worked with the City Council and the local Council of Churches to help decorate the grass median on Daisy Avenue with a Christmas village and nativity scene. That effort then garnered participation from nearby residents and continued to grow over the years, according to a press release. Today, the parade continues to be a staple in the community during the holiday season.
And on Saturday, the Daisy Lane Parade once again lit up the Wrigley neighborhood — as hundreds of families and friends enjoyed the cherished community tradition.
