The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Saturday for the 14th time in 15 days, falling 1 cent to $4.542.
The average price has dropped 18.7 cents over the past 15 days, including 2.1 cents Friday, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 9.5 cents less than one week ago and 30.9 cents less than one month ago, but 15.8 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $1.952 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The Orange County average price dropped for the 19th time in 20 days, falling eight-tenths of a cent to $4.445. It has dropped 27 cents over the past 20 days, including 1.9 cents Friday.
The Orange County average price is 10.9 cents less than one week ago and 35.5 cents less than one month ago, but 13.6 cents more than one year ago. It has dropped $2.014 since rising to a record $6.459 on Oct. 5, 2022.
“Southern California metro area average gas prices are now within five to 15 cents of their lowest levels of the year, which is great news for the record number of local residents who are planning holiday getaways this month,” Auto Club spokesperson Doug Shupe said in a statement.
“Wholesale Los Angeles gasoline prices are continuing to drop, which should continue the downward trend at the pump,” he added.
The national average price dropped 1.5 cents to $2.917. It is 4.6 cents less than one week ago, 16.3 cents less than one month ago and 10.9 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $2.099 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
