FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — A man is being held on a mental health evaluation after police say he killed two puppies in Fresno on Monday.

Fresno police responded to a disturbance call at a home near Cherry and Florence Avenues around 5 a.m.

When they arrived, officers found a 37-year-old man lying down with the two dead puppies.

The man was secured by officers and treated for a dog bite.

He was then transported to the hospital by EMS, where he will be held for a three-day mental health evaluation.
