Every Christmas season is made cuter by a few ruffles and bows, as any decoration fan knows.
But there is no ruffle in existence that can compare to Ruffles, a sweet-faced shelter dog enjoying some fresh attention as December deepens.
That adoring attention came courtesy of a fancy photoshoot staged by Pasadena Humane, an esteemed organization that has been caring for animals in need for well over a century.
The Ruffles-centered holiday photoshoot came about for a kind-hearted reason: The session was prompted by the fact that Ruffles had been at the Raymond Avenue animal center since August, with no adoption possibilities on the horizon.
The splashy sesh took place at the Pasadena Museum of History, which, as cheerful chance would have it, is dressed in a few festive bows. Bows, of course, that pair well with Ruffles.

Christmas and a cutie: Ruffles poses in front of the nicely festooned Pasadena Museum of History.
The Shar Pei mix is about 3 years old, shares the Pasadena Humane team. He was “… found as a stray in Glendale” last summer, and that very “special adopter” has been sought ever since.
The call for that adopter went wider Dec. 10, when Pasadena Humane shared the charming photoshoot on social media. “Ruffles has been at the shelter longer than many of the dogs in our care, and we hope some new profile photos at this stunning museum can help get this unique boy adopted,” revealed the post.
The team also noted some of their favorite attributes, those fabulous features that make Ruffles especially fetching; those include the pup’s petite ears and “the most handsome wrinkles you’ve ever seen.”

The adoptable pooch was a natural in front of the camera.
Described as “affectionate, goofy,” and highly focused on the humans he is with, Ruffles is a one-of-a-kind canine.
The Pasadena Humane adoption fee is $150, which includes vaccines (“age-appropriate,” of course), spaying or neutering, and a microchip.
More pups from the venerable animal shelter may call upon other Crown City landmarks in the months to come, so keep an eye on the Pasadena Humane social pages for other splashy snapshots and adoptable cuteness.
