FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — Amazon employees in Fresno are helping to ensure Christmas presents across the country get to their destinations in time, and now they’re getting help from their own families.

Many of the workers’ own children got a private tour of the 800,000 square foot facility in Southwest Fresno. It’s where over 3,500 workers from the Central Valley work year-round to deliver anything and everything Amazon offers. And this time of year, the employees are helping holiday wishes come true.

“They’re the ones that packages get delivered to the people ordering them in a very timely fashion prior to Christmas,” said Fresno Mayor Jerry Dyer.

And now, they are teaching their children what it takes to be one of Santa’s helpers — the kids even got to help sort, pack, and send off packages right in Fresno’s Amazon Fulfillment Centre.

Working quickly and with care is something Amazon employees are used to doing year-round.

“We rely on them heavily for the – not only package delivery, but also, they contribute to our sales tax, our revenue for the City of Fresno,” said Dyer.

But it wasn’t all work for Santa’s littlest helpers. They got to see how the company helps employees have fun with different themes and games throughout the year.

“Part of the game that we’ve been having with the associates… the Polar Express has been the theme,” said the facility’s Process Engineer, Ken Dandy. “There’s a lot of games and prizes we give out that are part of the same theme. And so, we carry it over to our proud parent event.”

To top it all off, the parents and kids got one of the best rewards this season… a visit from Santa!
