It’s all part of the escape room experience that’s now open in Sacramento’s Downtown Commons (DOCO).The worldwide escape room brand Escapology marked the grand opening of its newest location on Wednesday.The new DOCO entertainment hot spot boasts 5,100 square feet of space with nine separate themed escape rooms for visitors to find their way out of.“An escape room is probably the wrong name. It really should be an ‘escape game,’” said Escapology CEO Burton Heiss. “You have to solve a number of puzzles to either figure out who committed the crime, to find the treasure, or whatever the storyline is to technically escape.”Escapology says it offers an immersive, story-driven experience that challenges players of all ages.They are among the company’s 105 locations worldwide, and a concept the business hopes will be the key to its success at the prime, second-level terrace spot at DOCO within a short walking distance from Golden 1 Center.“I think one of the things that makes us unique is, this is all we do,” Heiss said. “We really want to be great at what we do. We think that gives us staying power.”Each escape room experience takes about 60 minutes to complete.
