San Francisco city leaders are considering renaming a street after Claude the albino alligator.

Claude lived at the California Academy of Sciences for 17 years before dying of cancer earlier this month.

On Tuesday, a city supervisor formally proposed renaming a city street “Claude the Albino Alligator Way.”

The city is now partnering with Mission Local, an online news outlet, to poll people on which street to rename. Five streets are being considered, all of them around the museum.

The poll is open until the end of the month.
