FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — A person of interest in a homicide in Dos Palos on Tuesday has been detained following a lengthy law enforcement chase that ended on Highway 99 in central Fresno.
The pursuit started north of the Fresno County line and went south on Highway 99 into Fresno before it ended up on Highway 41.
The pursuit then went back on northbound Highway 99, where the vehicle eventually stopped near Clinton Avenue.
Several law enforcement vehicles were seen blocking traffic as officers made contact with someone.
Dos Palos Police Chief Dayton Snyder confirmed that someone was detained.
The investigation started on Tuesday afternoon when a welfare check was done at a home near Santos Street in Dos Palos.
Officers found an unresponsive man inside, and he was declared dead with visible injuries on his body.
Action News has crews following the story and is waiting for updates from authorities.
