FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) — From family road trips to jet-setting abroad, peak travel season is upon us.
AAA projects more than 122 million Americans will travel at least 50 miles from home between December 20th through January 1st. That’s a little more than 2 percent more than last year.
According to the 2025 Deloitte Holiday Travel Survey, 31 percent of Americans think they’re doing worse financially, translating into fewer trips and smaller budgets.
The survey found that travel continues to be a part of holiday traditions, but average trip budgets have decreased by 18 percent — to around $2,300.
But nothing beats the priceless memories you can make at home.
With Fresno being just over an hour away from the gates of three national parks, including Yosemite, staycations are a great option.
“Everyone’s idea of adventure is different, and coming here and being local and being able to have everything that we offer included is a great deal right in your backyard,” says Tenaya Lodge at Yosemite General Manager, Brett Archer.
Archer says they have accommodations for various price points, with ice skating and snowshoeing included in your rate.
