Solo-vehicle crash on Highway 99 causes delays near Olive Drive

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Expect delays on northbound Highway 99 near Olive Drive after a solo-vehicle crash.

It was reported on Friday, October 17, at 9:56 a.m., that a vehicle hit the center divider.

The California Highway Patrol’s website said the vehicle swerved and lost control before hitting the center divider.

The website said a caller reported there was heavy smoke from the engine area.

CHP’s website said Caltrans was called to close the number one and two lanes.

A Caltrans camera captured the scene with a yellow tarp visible.
