The incident occurred during the third period of Dallas’ 8-3 victory over the Ducks Friday when Vatrano took down Robertson from behind after the Stars’ winger fired a shot on the rush.

Vatrano hacked at Robertson with his stick just before he fired the shot on net. When Robertson peeled off to go back up the ice in the corner, he struck back at Vatrano, who responded by taking Robertson down from behind. He then went at Robertson on the playing surface as a scrum ensued.

Vatrano was assessed 16 minutes in penalties on the play, including 10 for misconduct, two for roughing, and two separate minors for unsportsmanlike conduct. Robertson was also given a two-minute penalty for slashing.

Vatrano was a plus-one in 10:42 of action, while Robertson had two goals and an assist for a team-high three points in 15:18 of ice time.
