Shocking surveillance video shows the moments before thieves walked away with thousands of dollars’ worth of wigs.
Employees at Strut Hair Solutions in northwest Fresno were alerted about the robbery on Saturday morning.
“They tore the whole window down and they put in a device to grab all the hair pieces. We do have bars on the windows, but they had a device that allowed them to grab the wigs through the bars,” lead stylist Corrina Lopez said.
The wig shop, whose clients include cancer patients and people with alopecia, has been tucked away at a small shopping center for about ten years.
Lopez says the business moved from a previous location to avoid incidents like this.
“Glass is everywhere. Whatever wigs they weren’t able to take glass is now in them,” she said.
But this wasn’t the first time Strut Hair Solutions was hit with crime.

Lopez says the thieves aren’t just hurting the business, they’re hurting the customers they serve.
“Most of the people that come in, they leave crying because they just see how amazing they look and feel. So, it’s very valuable to them. Some people just think ‘oh, it’s just a wig, it’s fashion’ but no. To them, that’s their life again,” Lopez said.
In total, the thieves stole more than 30 wigs. Early estimates suggest the damage and theft is going to cost Strut Hair Solutions more than $27,000.
The business owner has filed a report for both incidents with Fresno Police.
