REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – A proactive police operation at Sequoia Station in Redwood City led to the arrest of a suspect accused of selling narcotics near the train platform, according to the Redwood City Police Department.

The operation, conducted earlier this month, involved collaboration between Redwood City Police Department (RCPD) officers and detectives, with assistance from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office. The team also utilized the department’s Drone as a First Responder (DFR) program to monitor the area and ensure a safe and efficient arrest.
Police said the suspect was found with 25 bindles of methamphetamine, along with cash and packaging materials. The discovery was made during a targeted enforcement effort aimed at addressing illegal drug activity around public transit areas.
“Earlier this month, RCPD officers and detectives conducted a proactive operation at Sequoia Station that led to the arrest of a suspect actively selling narcotics near the train platform,” the department said in a statement. “With assistance from the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office and support from RCPD’s Drone as a First Responder (DFR) program, officers safely detained the suspect and recovered 25 bindles of methamphetamine, cash, and packaging materials.”
The department emphasized that the successful operation underscores the effectiveness of coordinated policing strategies. “This case highlights the power of teamwork, technology, and proactive enforcement in keeping our community safe,” the department said.
