Three arrested for suspected DUI at CHP checkpoint, 172 vehicles screened in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — Three people were arrested for suspected DUI during a CHP checkpoint Friday night in Bakersfield.

CHP said during the checkpoint, officers screened 172 vehicles.

Field sobriety tests were conducted on four drivers, of whom three were arrested for DUI. CHP said nine citations were issued and four vehicles were impounded.

In a social media post, CHP said, “During this holiday season, choose wisely, never get behind the wheel after consuming alcohol or drugs. You don’t want to spend holidays in jail, hospital, or the morgue.”
