Major storms are soaking Northern California, causing flooding in parts, with more intense rain and wind expected to be impactful through Christmas.

The storms hitting California have already turned deadly in Redding.

Storms are forecasted through Christmas, likely bringing more flooding to areas as they increase in intensity.

According to the NWS, urban flooding and major travel delays could develop late Tuesday and continue into early Friday as repeated rounds of heavy rain move across the region. The risk will increase across the entire Bay Area and Central Coast as the week goes on.

Very strong and damaging winds are also expected from Tuesday through early Friday, especially along the coast and in higher inland elevations. Power outages are likely, and residents are urged to prepare.
