BAKERSFIELD, Calif.(KBAK/KBFX) — Since its opening in November, Hard Rock Tejon Casino has emerged as a significant contributor to the regional economy, officials said.
In 2025, the casino hired more than 1,100 employees, with approximately 80% residing in Kern County. Currently, 200 additional positions are being filled across various departments, including table games, slot operations, marketing, finance, and food and beverage.

Between Nov. 10 and Dec. 20, the casino paid out more than $35 million in jackpots, injecting substantial funds back into the local economy. Additionally, Hard Rock Casino Tejon contributed over $125,000 to local organizations in 2025, including Open Door Network, CAPK, Kern Coalition Against Human Trafficking, CBCC Foundation, CALM Zoo, Boys & Girls Clubs of Kern County, and the Wildlands Conservancy’s Wind Wolves Preserve.
Erin Paslay-Henderson, owner of Bakersfield-based eMedia Marketing Solutions, highlighted the positive impact of the partnership. “Hard Rock’s commitment to working with local partners and giving back has made a real impact,” she stated.
Chase Prielipp, owner of SignTek, a Kern County custom sign company, echoed that sentiment, noting the steady work, clear communication, and thoughtful planning that have supported his business and employees.
