FRESNO, Calif. (FOX26) — The Fresno food truck community is coming together to support one of its own as she nears the end of battle with cancer.
Lida Nguyen, co-owner of “Where’s The Food?” food truck, was diagnosed with cancer in 2023.
“They haven’t made a big deal about it,” Mike Osegueda, president of Fresno Street Eats, said. “This is the first time that it’s probably even been talked about publicly and they’ve just reached a point where they need some help.”
She has continued to work alongside her husband while undergoing treatment, all while raising their three daughters.
“There was times where I know she was having doctor’s appointments and chemo and I see her on the food truck that next weekend,” Osegueda said.
Osegueda said the latest update he received indicated the family is preparing their goodbyes.
“Kudos to Lida, she fought,” Osegueda said.
Osegueda has organized a donation platform to assist the family, with the food truck community leading the charge.
Wilson Tadros, co-woner of Willy’s Philly’s on Wheels, said the family is always kind to the other food truck owners.
“When you’re in this industry you all become one big family.” Tadros said. “This is a time where we’re gonna try to make it a little bit easier.”
Donations are being collected through a GoFundMe page, with every contribution making a significant impact.
