Griffith Park—A ceremony was held earlier this month to celebrate the $200,000 renovation of the Griffith Park Visitor Center in the Rancho Los Feliz Adobe. The project, funded by the Griffith J. Griffith Charitable Trust, includes new interactive displays and new taxidermy of park wildlife created by a Lincoln Heights firm.

$500,000 for Flat Top Park
Lincoln Heights & Montecito Heights—The stewards of Flat Top Park have received $500,000 from the state to acquire vacant lots, expand access, bring in green infrastructure, and further develop a youth workforce program for the park. The check was awarded at an event last week to the nonprofit North East Trees by State Assemblymember Jessica Caloza, who serves on the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks, and Wildlife. Flat Top Park, which lies on the border of Lincoln Heights and Montecito Heights, was acquired by North East Trees in 2014.
