The family that owns Fresno’s popular Where’s The Food truck is asking for the community’s help through this GoFundMe as Lida Nguyen, the wife and mother of the family, is dying of cancer.
Mike Osegueda, founder of the Fresno Street Eats food truck event, organized the fundraiser . Osegueda has been a long-time friend to Nguyen and her husband, Henry Wickman, who in 2015 started operating Where’s The Food, known as the WTF food truck.
“They’re just good, hardworking people,” Osegueda told The Bee on Wednesday. “They’re true examples of what it’s like to be a food truck entrepreneur.”
Fresno Street Eats announced the GoFundMe on social media Tuesday. Its goal is to raise $24,000 and by Wednesday afternoon it has raised $14,498.
Osegueda said the family is proud, so they previously did not ask for the community’s help despite Nguyen having been diagnosed with cancer a few years ago. But she is now in hospice care , so community donations will help Wickman give his wife a burial and provide the family some financial support, Osegueda said.
He said Nguyen and Wickman have three daughters.

Lida Nguyen is nearing her battle with cancer. Her husband, Henry Wickman, is taking donations through GoFundMe to give her a nice burial to help support his family.
Fresno restaurant community coming together to help food truck owners
About a year after the married couple opened the WTF food truck , they said in an interview with The Bee that the WTF name was born from the frustration they experienced while trying to think of a name.
The truck is known for its Mexican-Asian fusion and creative menu options.
Osegueda told The Bee Nguyen “was the creative mind behind a lot of the menu.”
He said being a food truck entrepreneur does not come with the same security as other careers.
“If the food truck’s not out there, they’re not generating any income,” Osegueda said. “The kinds of things happen in the business, you prepare for that. But you don’t necessarily prepare for cancer or life and death.”
He said Fresno’s food truck and restaurant community — including owners and customers — have already stepped up to help the family with donations.
“They’ve definitely made an impact in the community,” Osegueda said. “You can see that based on the other people that are donating.”
