Homicide Investigation and ArrestÂ
December 25, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at approximately 6:17 p.m., Northeast Policing District officers responded to the area of Clinton Avenue and Bond Street regarding a neighbor disturbance with a gunshot being heard. Officers found a 64-year-old victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper body. The victim was later identified as Mark Tarasevic of Fresno.
Tarasevic was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts, Tarasevic was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Homicide detectives identified 74-year-old John Gentry as the suspect in the case. Gentry and Victim Tarasevic were neighbors. Gentry was taken into custody shortly after the shooting and was booked into the Fresno County Jail for murder. The firearm used in this murder was recovered.
