(KRON) — San Jose Fire Department said fire crews responded to a gas leak Saturday afternoon.

Power restored after Golden Gate Park area was hit with second major outage in a week

SJFD said it was alerted of the gas leak at 4 p.m.

The incident was in the area of Cottle Road and Santa Teresa Boulevard. The shut-down perimeter extended an extra block in all directions, according to SJFD. Residents were urged to avoid the area.

“SJFD HazMat en route,” officials said in a social media post.

The gas leak was secured at 6:31 p.m., SJFD later updated in a social media post.

All roads have been cleared.

The origin and cause of the leak are not yet determined.
