SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The paramedic who got injured in the Sacramento helicopter crash has been released from the hospital.
REACH Air Medical Services announced the update on Friday. Margaret “DeDe” Davis was one of the three people onboard the helicopter that crashed onto Highway 50 in Sacramento on October 6. As a result of the crash, DeDe, flight nurse Suzie Smith and the pilot Chad Millward were left critically injured. Suzie Smith passed away a few days after the crash.
After almost two weeks of being critically injured, Millward and DeDe are reportedly making meaningful progress in their recovery. Chad remains in the ICU, however, his condition has stabilized. DeDe has been discharged from the hospital and is now in an inpatient rehabilitation program.

The compassion and concern from our community have meant so much to all those affected, and we are deeply appreciative of everyone keeping our crew and their families in their thoughts and prayers.
We are encouraged to share positive news regarding our crew members: Chad Millward (pilot) and Margaret “DeDe” Davis (paramedic) continue to make meaningful progress in their recovery. Chad remains in the ICU, but his condition has stabilized. DeDe has been discharged from the hospital and has begun the next important phase of her journey to recovery. She is now in an inpatient rehabilitation program, where she’ll receive specialized care and support as she continues to heal.
We deeply mourn the loss of Susan “Suzie” Smith, whose dedication and compassion touched countless lives. As we celebrate the ongoing recovery of Chad and DeDe, we honor Suzie’s memory and her significant contributions to our community.”
