Old Sacramento to host family-friendly New Year’s Eve event ‘Countdown on the Cobblestones’

You can celebrate New Year’s Eve without having to stay awake until midnight in Old Sacramento. The “Countdown on the Cobblestones” family-friendly event starts at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.The celebration is free and open to the public. It features live music, activities, and a fireworks and light show beginning at 9 p.m. at the intersection of Front and K streets. The countdown show is produced by Pyro Spectaculars Inc. in partnership with Stage Nine Exhibits. Performances will include: Rituals of Mine, DJ Epik, Element Brass Band, Lab Rats and DJ El Indio.The Ferris wheel and merry-go-round will be open for a fee, and selfie booths and lounge areas will be available throughout the event.
