You can celebrate New Year’s Eve without having to stay awake until midnight in Old Sacramento. The “Countdown on the Cobblestones” family-friendly event starts at 5 p.m. on Wednesday. The celebration is free and open to the public. It features live music, activities, and a fireworks and light show beginning at 9 p.m. at the intersection of Front and K streets. The countdown show is produced by Pyro Spectaculars Inc. in partnership with Stage Nine Exhibits. Performances will include: Rituals of Mine, DJ Epik, Element Brass Band, Lab Rats and DJ El Indio.
