LONG BEACH, CA – Global Peace Foundation and UNA-USA Long Beach chapter brought holiday cheer to the community here with a toy donation drive for local children in need. The event, held on December 22, aimed to ensure that every child experienced the joy of the season, regardless of their financial circumstances.
Dr. Manorama Gupta, President of both Associations, said that hundreds of new, unwrapped toys were collected through the generosity of local residents and members of the two associations. The toys were distributed to families at Carmelitos Community Center, in Long Beach, brightening the holidays for countless children.
“We’re deeply grateful for the incredible support from our community,” said Gupta. “These gifts are more than just toys; they symbolize hope, kindness, and the true spirit of giving.” It was so satisfying to see beautiful smiles on the children’s faces and receive thanks from parents.
The volunteers organized three large tables laden with toys, from which children picked their own choice of toys. The drive not only supported underprivileged families but also strengthened community bonds during the holiday season.
One of the recipient parents said, “Seeing my kids smile this Christmas meant the world to us.”
