Super Peach will operate as an all-day restaurant with an approachable menu from Chang and the Momofuku team that combines Korean flavors with California sensibilities and ingredients. Meals can start with Korean fried chicken with sweet and spicy and honey garlic sauces, a Momofuku specialty; sesame-marinated cucumbers; and soft tofu with ginger and daikon radish. Fried shrimp with pickled red onion and lemon mayonnaise takes inspiration from Nobuyuki “Nobu” Matsuhisa, while tender pork belly gets served with a sweet and salty soy and maple glaze.
Gimbap (also spelled kimbap), which featured heavily on the menu at the now-closed Momofuku Kāwi in New York, is filled with a choice of line-caught tuna (available regular or spicy), cucumber, and avocado; fried chicken with pickled chiles, onion, and spicy mayonnaise; and wagyu beef with crispy shallots. Salads include Chinese chicken salad and a sesame Caesar. Mains take the restaurant into dinner destination territory: think lobster noodles tossed with ginger, garlic, and lemon; roasted half chicken with fingerling potatoes; a line-up of steaks, including a 32-ounce marinated rib-eye; and a large-format Dungeness crab. Diners can end their meals with desserts like burnt cheesecake with seasonal fruit, salted caramel pudding, or chocolate cake with creme fraiche.
With a full liquor license, Super Peach will serve original cocktails like a red miso michelada and the Holiday in the Tropics with banana, curry leaf, lime, and avocado, alongside more classic drinks. Beer and wine will also be available.
INC Architecture and Design, the New York-based group behind the design of Momofuku Noodle Bar, transformed the ground-floor space with green tiles, floor-to-ceiling windows, round booths, and light plywood. The dining room seats 196, while the covered outdoor patio offers another 24 seats.
Super Peach opens on October 19 for dinner service, with lunch to come in the following weeks. The restaurant is located on the first floor of Westfield Century City at 10250 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA.
