A man was arrested in Bakersfield after he allegedly burglarized a Saugus bar last month stealing approximately $8,000 in property.
On Nov. 27, 2025, deputies responded to a burglary at the Shot Exchange in the 26800 block of Bouquet Canyon Road in Saugus, said Shirley Miller, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
During the investigation, it was determined the suspect stole approximately $8,000 in property from the bar, according to Miller.
“Detectives identified a male adult suspect, who was over 80 miles, in the Bakersfield area,” Miller said.
With the assistance of Crime Impact Team (CIT) deputies, the suspect was brought into custody.
“The CIT deputies traveled all the way to Bakersfield (Monday) and located the 57-year-old male adult suspect at a motel who no doubt was very surprised to see them.”
Scott Thompson, 57, was transported to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s jail and booked for felony burglary.
