A San Jose man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder after striking a person in the head with a metal pole, police said.
The incident happened Saturday around 10:14 a.m. near Tully Road and Highway 101, according to the San Jose Police Department. The victim, an unidentified man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was later stabilized at a hospital, police said.
Investigators identified Jonathan Nunez, 30, as the suspect and learned he was wanted for a separate incident that occurred just days before. Nunez allegedly entered a place of worship on the 1300 block of E. Santa Clara Street during a Christmas Eve service and punched a glass window, resulting in $20,000 worth of damages, police said.
