LAKESHORE, Calif. (FOX26) — Skiers and snowboarders are in for a treat as China Peak celebrates the New Year with a fresh blanket of snow.

Originally forecast to rain on Thursday, the weather took a snowy turn, delighting winter sports enthusiasts.

The snow is expected to continue throughout the day, with clear skies anticipated on Friday and more snow over the weekend.

China Peak is open daily from Dec. 28 to Jan. 5, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., before transitioning to a five-day schedule through April.
