BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Two inmates were injured after an incident at Kern Valley State Prison Tuesday afternoon.
Officials with the Kern Valley State Prison said staff saw two inmates striking each other in the dayroom around 2:10 p.m. on Tuesday. Staff used chemical agents to stop the incident.
Both of the inmates involved in the incident sustained injuries and were transported to an outside medical facility and were treated. They returned to the prison.

One improvised weapon was found at the scene, according to officials.
No staff were injured.
