Orange County Coast and San Diego County Coastal Areas were placed under a beach hazards statement by the National Weather Service on Thursday at 7:42 p.m. The statement is in effect until Sunday Jan. 4, at 10 a.m.

“High astronomical tides in the mornings will result in minor tidal overflow and local beach flooding,” can be expected according to the NWS San Diego CA. “Predicted high tides at La Jolla: 6.9 feet at 7:26 a.m. Friday, 7.0 feet at 8:14 a.m. Saturday, 6.8 feet at 9:01 a.m. Sunday.”

“Minor tidal overflow, beach flooding, and coastal erosion most likely during times of high tides,” according to the NWS. “Remain out of the water to avoid hazardous swimming conditions.”
