BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KBAK/KBFX) — At least one person is dead after a crash on Highway 178 Sunday night.
The CHP’s website said a crash between a vehicle and a pedestrian was reported on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at around 9:08 p.m. on westbound Highway 178 near Union Avenue.
The website said the Union Avenue off-ramp was closed.
The coroner’s office was called.
It is unknown who died or if anyone else was hurt in the crash.
