A high-speed chase came to a crashing stop in Winnetka on Monday following a roughly half-hour pursuit in the San Fernando Valley.

Police began to pursue a suspected DUI driver at 9:26 p.m. in the valley. Refusing to yield to officers, the driver led police on a high-speed pursuit on freeways and surface streets.

At 9:56 p.m., the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a pole while near the intersection of Saticoy Street and Corbin Avenue in Winnetka. Due to the crash, the car was disabled.

NewsChopper4 captured the moment officers detained the driver. It’s unclear if he was hurt in the crash.
