The South Pasadena Unified School District will begin registration for new students enrolling in district elementary schools for the 2026–2027 school year on Friday, January 16, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.
Families residing in South Pasadena are required to complete the online registration process through the district’s Aeries enrollment portal at southpasadenausd.aeries.net/enrollment and select “Pre-Enroll for 26–27.” After submitting the online form, families must schedule an in-person appointment at their designated home school to complete registration.
Students currently enrolled in South Pasadena Unified schools will be automatically registered for the next school year. Families are asked to return the required Intent to Return Form by January 9, 2026. Teachers will distribute these forms during the first week of January.
Transitional Kindergarten and Dual Language Programs
Children who turn four years old by September 1, 2026, are eligible to register for the district’s Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program. Additional details about TK and registration requirements are available on the SPUSD website.
The district also offers Dual Language Immersion Programs in Spanish and Mandarin. Families interested in these programs can view a general overview presentation available on the Dual Language Immersion Program webpage.
Lottery Dates and Open Enrollment
Following registration, two separate lotteries will be conducted:
Dual Language Immersion Lottery: Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.
New Family TK/K Lottery: Friday, April 17, 2026, at 3:30 p.m.
Families requesting a change to their child’s assigned school must complete an open enrollment form, available at school offices, and return it to their home school no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026. If requests exceed capacity, an open enrollment lottery will be held. Placement decisions will be communicated prior to the start of the 2026–2027 school year.
Middle and High School Registration
Families with new middle or high school students may begin registering by appointment at school sites starting Monday, March 9, 2026. Families are encouraged to visit individual school or district websites for specific registration details.
A tour of South Pasadena High School for new and current families is scheduled for January 22, from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. Elementary school tour schedules will be posted on individual school websites.
Interdistrict Enrollment
South Pasadena Unified also accepts applications from families residing outside district boundaries. Interdistrict enrollment is a separate process from resident registration. Families are encouraged to begin the registration process early to ensure timely placement and access to district programs.
