OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – An Oakland County man said he feels “stress-free” and “like a weight has been lifted” from his chest after winning a $1 million prize, Michigan Lottery officials announced.
The 30-year-old player, who decided to stay anonymous, won the $1 million prize when his Super Raffle number (172580) was picked as the winner in the Nov. 19 drawing.
“My brother told me about the Super Raffle game, so I asked him to buy me a ticket when he went and got one for himself and I ended up getting lucky,” the player told lottery officials. “When I saw my raffle ticket was a $1 million winner, I couldn’t believe it. I had to check it several times before it started to sink in that I really won. I feel stress-free and like a weight has been lifted from my chest!
The winning ticket was purchased at Kakoz 2 LLC at 36950 Dequindre Road in Sterling Heights.
The Oakland County man decided to receive his prize as a one-time lump sum payment of about $693,000. He plans to save his winnings.
