CLOVIS, Calif. (FOX26) — Clovis Police arrested two people for buying alcohol for minors on Friday.
The arrests were part of a “Shoulder Tap” operation conducted in Clovis, targeting adults who purchase alcohol for individuals under 21.
During the operation, a minor, under law enforcement supervision, asked customers outside liquor and convenience stores to buy alcohol, clearly stating that they were under the age of 21.
Clovis Police stated, “Underage drinking harms our community. Preventing the sale of alcohol to minors will help to increase public safety and make our roads safer.”
Adults agreeing to purchase alcohol for minors face arrest and a minimum penalty of a $1,000 fine and 24 hours of community service.
